Nokia Lumia 1020 Review
The day has finally come, a 41 mega pixel camera that runs on a Windows Phone is now available in the markets for sale. After the Nokia 808 with 41 megapixel camera which had a good success report, although its on Symbian Operating System. The seed for a Phone with that camera with updated and latest Windows Operating System, then lead to the Nokai Lumia 1020.
Here is a quick review of Nokia Lumia 1020
Built & Design: Rating: 9/10
Just like the other Nokia Lumia phones, the Lumia 1020 also has a polycarbonate body which gives the user a premium feel when in the hands. The Volume controls button, Power button and a dedicated Camera button on the right side panel. The top side panel has Micro SIM slot and a Head phone port and the bottom side panel has a Micro USB port, speaker out and a lanyard slot. Just like any Windows phone, the phone also has three touch buttons with Search, Home and Back options.
The designers have taken some serious responsibility and showed their dedication by making the 41 megapixel camera look so beautiful on the back of Lumia 1020. Unlike phones that actually resembles a mini camera with high pixel range, the Nokia Lumia 1020 is absolutely a Phone of mind blowing design, integration of Camera and its working.
Display: Rating: 8/10
The Nokia Lumia 1020 comes with a 4.5 inch (pretty smaller than what is expected) display having a screen resolution of about 768×1280 pixels. The Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display with a pixel density of 334 pixels/inch is really beautiful on a 4.5 inch Windows phone screen.
Well! The display is a bit smaller for the Phone of that specs and that cost, it is working for the Nokia Lumia 1020 I should say as it seems less of a concern as the users are really loving the phone for its style, design and working.
Camera: Rating: 7.5/10
One of the most anticipated features from the Nokia Lumia 1020 is the camera. Yes! The phone has made some news as it is the first ever Windows phone to have a 41 mega pixel rear camera at present.
The rear Camera is described to be of 41 megapixel but it is possible to capture either a 38 megapixel or a 34 megapixel depending on the ratio you select IE: clicking picture in 4:3 or 16:9 mode. However, it is not a problem with the 38 megapixel camera as the working of the camera is way better than the previous Nokia 808 phone with 41 megapixel on Symbian platform. There are several modes, effects and options for capturing a photo. And coming to video, the Nokia Lumia 1020 is capable of recording a full-HD (1920 x 1080) videos at 30 fps. With a 1.2 megapixel front camera, a video of 720 p can be recorded at 30fps.
Battery: Rating: 7/10
The Nokia Lumia 1020 comes with a Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery which is pretty much less for a phone of such kind. As described by the company, the life of the battery is fine for call purpose and music, but gaming and long usage of the camera is not an option to consider unless you got a backup battery support.
Final Verdict: Final Rating : 8/10
The Nokia Lumia 1020 is a better phone from Windows with good camera and awesome design. It is more likely a student and general phone rather than considering it for business purpose. If you are a fan of Windows phone, high quality camera with not a bad battery life and price is not a concern, then NOKIA LUMIA 1020 is the best choice.
